School Readiness
dromoLogio - Speech Therapy for Children & Adults | Karditsa

The transition from kindergarten to elementary school is a critical developmental stage for every child. School readiness describes the set of skills a child needs to start school successfully, both cognitively and socio-emotionally.

At dromoLogio, we assess and support preschool children to develop the skills required for a smooth and creative integration into the school environment.

What does school readiness include?
School readiness concerns skills such as:

  • Language comprehension and expression
  • Phonological awareness (ability to distinguish sounds in words)
  • Ability to concentrate and follow instructions
  • Memory and auditory discrimination
  • Social interaction and adaptation to rules
  • Fine motor and writing skills

When to see a speech therapist:

  • If the child has difficulty expressing himself in complete sentences
  • If he cannot follow simple or complex instructions
  • If he has a poor vocabulary or does not recognize basic concepts (colors, numbers, shapes)
  • If he shows an inability to concentrate or cooperate with other children
  • If he has difficulties with fine motor skills (e.g. holds a pencil incorrectly)

Our approach at dromoLogio
At dromoLogio, we provide specialized school readiness programs that enhance the child's overall development and prepare him for the demands of elementary school.

The intervention includes:

  • Development of language skills through play and activities
  • Strengthening auditory and visual memory
  • Phonological awareness activities (syllables, rhymes, sounds)
  • Improvement of preposition and fine motor skills
  • Support of emotional maturation and social skills

We work closely with parents and teachers to ensure that the child is appropriately prepared and empowered to start school with confidence.
